HWR WEEKLY NEWS The sun has be beating down on Hill Barn recently and it looks as though summer is well and truly here to stay. With more runners and entries being made it is definitely full steam ahead. The weeks are now flying by and it's only a matter of time until we are fully immersed in the new season.   NEVERBEEN TO PARIS Neverbeen To Paris made his chase debut at Newton Abbot on the 24th July. He had been schooling fences really well at home and we had decided to line him up in a handy position. He was cautious over the first couple of fences, which meant that he lost his position early on, but soon warmed to the task. Turning in when they slowed down the pace he was on the coat-tails of the pack. They then quicken up for home and he was out paced, so Gavin made sure he got a good clear round. He will benefit hugely for the experience and has now been given a chase mark, so we can place him in a handicap next time out. LANTIERN Lantiern lined up at Bangor on the 29th July in what looked like a good opportunity on paper for his second start over fences. He ran with plenty of promise on his chase debut and we thought the drop back in trip this time would suit him well. There wasn’t a lot of pace on early and he jumped his way to the front which wasn’t his usual running style. On the second circuit the other horses came to his girth, he lost ground and came home at the same pace. He has suffered from wind problems in the past so we will get him checked out before running him again. He has a bright future over fences so we're sure he will bounce back. SHAFFIRE Shaffire lined up back over a mile and a quarter at Lingfield on Friday having disappointed at Sandown last time out. She got a fantastic ride this time by Adam McNamara who tucked her in mid div and crept away nicely into the race. She ran on to finish a very good second, the winner was extremely well handicapped and it was her best run to date. We will look to run her in a similar event again and hopefully she can get her head back in front before too long. REBEL LEADER Rebel Leader lined up in his first chase under rules at Southwell on Tuesday. Having won a point to point on his only start before arriving at the yard, we were looking forward to getting him started over the bigger obstacles. Gavin jumped him off to make the running as he likes to be ridden in a positive manner. From there he jumped extremely well, the same cannot be said for the other horses as there were a lot of fallers in the race. Turning down the back he looked to have every chance, but Gavin was soon having to give him a squeeze turning in. He ran on at the same pace to finish third. He was making a little bit of a noise on the way round so we are going to have to get his wind looked at before he runs again. He is a genuine little horse who will stay 3 miles, so we look forward to seeing what he can do later on in the season. ARIA ROSE Aria Rose lined up for his second start over fences in what looked like a good opportunity on paper at Stratford yesterday. There was plenty of pace on and we had to settle for a handy position. Daryl got him into a lovely rhythm, but when they kicked on turning out the back straight he was out paced. He ran on to finish 7th and it is likely he isn’t staying the distance. He is not firing over jumps so we will likely switch him back to a run on the flat. ENTRIES ARCADIAN SPRING Arcadian Spring is entered in another novice hurdle at Uttoxeter tomorrow. Back in trip and this time over two and a half miles. He shaped with some promise on debut, but his confidence went with his jumping. He's been schooling well at home and this drop trip should help him. We really hope he can take another step forward. HENRIETTA BELL Henrietta Bell will line up in her second chase on the same card at Uttoxeter tomorrow. Having shaped with some promise on debut she has been given an opening mark of 120 which means that she can now drop down into a handicap against her own class. She’s been in really good form at home and has schooled nicely the last couple of weeks, so we are looking forward to seeing what she can do.
