APRIL SHOWERS BRING MAY FLOWERS

06-04-2018

THIS WEEK With the April showers continuing over the Easter weekend and into the start of this week there have been very little jumps meetings able to continue which aren't under water.  We therefore have very little to report with no runners but now that the sun has started to shine and things are looking to slowly dry out we do have plenty in the pipeline who are all raring to go... ENTRIES Blue Valentine holds entries at Ludlow on Monday and Southwell on Tuesday, but will only take her chance if the ground dries significantly.  She enjoyed the better ground at Doncaster earlier in the season and needs those conditions to be seen at her best. Hoke Colburn is also entered at Southwell on Tuesday, but is another who’s been waiting for better ground.  He has excellent course form and if the ground were to dry this would be an ideal race for him.  He’s still on a workable handicap mark and he’s unexposed up in distance.  He will have to wait for something else if the ground doesn’t suit though. Hoke Colburn Guiding Stars is entered in bumpers at Southwell on Monday and Market Rasen on Wednesday.  He ran well at Worcester in the autumn, but then raced too freely at Huntingdon and didn’t get home last time.  He is fresh and well at home and will wear a hood to help him to settle.  Wherever he goes he should be competitive. The Grey Enforcer holds an entry in the bumper at Market Rasen on Wednesday.  He is a 4yo gelding by Gris de Gris and has been showing all the right signs in his work at home.  He is a strong traveller who should be able to cope with the unique track and we are looking forward to learning some more about him. The Grey Enforcer Tangoed holds an entry at Taunton on Thursday.  She was disappointing on handicap debut at Market Rasen last month and is on a bit of a retrieval mission.  She should be sharper for that run and we are hopeful of a better performance off a mark of 90. Tangoed 2 Tierra Verde is also entered in the same race at Taunton.  She ran very well over course and distance last time and looks nicely handicapped on a mark of 100.  Cut in the ground seems to suit her and she’s a mare who’s at her best in the Spring.  She does have another option in the coming days. Perfect Myth holds an entry in the Mares bumper at Taunton on Thursday.  She has placed on both bumper starts and shown a solid level of form.  The sharp track at Taunton should suit her, she’s in good form at home and we are looking forward to seeing her out again.
