DREAMING OF WHAT LIES AHEAD

28-06-2019

THIS WEEK The sunshine and warm weather has returned to Hill Barn this week as the winter horses have enjoyed the last bit of their summer holidays.  With just the one runner to report on the track there is little else to update you all on apart from another busy week over at the sales in Ireland for Harry.  So as the summer rolls on we're dreaming of what lies ahead this season... REPORTS HENRIETTA BELL Henrietta Bell lined up at Southwell on Monday in in the Evie Primrose Wood Mares' Handicap Hurdle over 1m7½f.  This was her handicap debut back at the same venue where she had previously been seen winning nicely. It looked a competitive race on paper but she had been in good form at home and we were expecting a big run.  There was not much pace early on in the race and Gavin gave her plenty of room to get her nice and settled.  She jumped and travelled nicely throughout the race but as the pace quickened slightly turning into the home straight she was in top gear, still finding plenty however.  As she came to the second last she put in a short one which got her into the bottom of the hurdle and she took quite a heavy fall.  Thankfully she got up straight away and galloped home, jumping the last on the way through.  She is a very tough mare and has come out of the race absolutely fine.  We will now pause before making a plan of what to do next. ENTRIES  CARDY Cardy has been declared to run at Cartmel on Sunday in the 2pm Hadwins Motor Group Mares' Novices' Hurdle over 2m 1f.  There are 11 declared with the top weight and the Olly Murphy horses looking the likely dangers.  She will need the experience first time over hurdles and we have still got a lot to learn about her regarding trip and track.  We are looking forward to running her as she has been in good form at home. SIROBBIE Sirobbie has also been declared to run on Sunday back at his favourite track; Uttoxeter in the 3.30pm bet365 Handicap Hurdle over 2m 7f.  He has been in really good form since his last run and has improved significantly since going up in trip and dropped into handicaps.  He is a duel course and distance winner and seems to love the track.  This race is a valuable handicap for this time of year and so we felt we would have a go at it off a nice weight. SALTO CHISCO Salto Chisco holds an entry at Perth next Thursday in the 3.10pm Watch Racingtv Now Handicap Chase over 2m 4f.  It will be good to get him back over fences and he has been in good form at home so we are looking forward to running him.  He is still enjoying his racing even though he is getting a bit long in the tooth!  He ran well at Perth on his only other run there where he finished 2nd over hurdles so we are looking forward to heading back there with him next week.
