HWR WEEKLY NEWS
Frosty mornings paint a picturesque scene over the gallops at Hill Barn Stables this week.  The log burner is in full swing and winter spirits are warm in the team.  There are a few shares remaining (see more info below) in a quality 3yo for the future and the popular HWR Calendars are soon to be back for another year.  We have some nice new recruits to look forward to seeing make their yard debuts over the coming days and plenty more in store as we roll into November...

REPORTS
SHEILA NASH
Sheila Nash headed to Plumpton on Monday, where she unfortunately got spooked by something down at the start and was then on the back foot when the tape went up.  She was able to work her way into midfield but soon began to feel the heat when the pace lifted and just couldn't muster the pace to ever land any serious challenge.  She definitely needs 2.5 miles on a galloping track, so we will look to freshen her up and drop her in next time.
BREAKING WAVES
Breaking Waves was our second runner on the same card at Plumpton on Monday in a competitive 0-140 handicap hurdle, run at a good clip.  Unfortunately he was struggling from an early stage but ran on and enjoyed passing tired horses late on.  We’ll now look to get him back into the comfort zone going back down in class, where the slightly steadier gallop will enable him to get into a nicer rhythm.  He has been running consistently well over the past few months and will likely have just the one more run before a well earned winter break.
FITZ IN
Fitz In lined up in a competitive novice hurdle at Chepstow on Wednesday afternoon on his first start for the yard since joining us this summer.  He is a horse that we think a bit of but he was a bit ring-rusty which is understandable on his first run in almost a year.  He was always towards the back end of the field in a race run at a furious pace and found jumping out of that testing ground hard work.  He stayed on and finished in mid division.  We feel he’ll make a lovely staying chaser in time.
ENTRIES
FULGURIX
Fulgurix has been declared to run in a novices' handicap chase at Hexham this afternoon over 1m7f.  He hasn’t been with us long but he’s working nicely and ready to get his season up and running.  He’s done all of his racing over hurdles so far but he’s related to chase winners and given his size this looks like the obvious option for him now.  He’s schooled well at home and he should be able to build on his opening mark of 113, which he has earned over hurdles.
TRANSFER FRIENDLY
We are looking to get Transfer Friendly up and running under rules and he has several possible options over the next week, the most likely at the moment looks to be Ffos Las on Sunday.  He’ll start off over hurdles but is very much a chaser in the long term.  He goes nicely at home and we’ll be looking to give him a nice experience first time out.
TORIGNI
Torigni looks set to make a start over fences in the coming days and holds multiple entries.  We're hopeful this might unlock some further improvement from this consistent individual and we are looking forward to seeing what he can do over the bigger obstacles.
SHORE SHANTY
We are aiming to get Shore Shanty rolling over fences sooner rather than later and she has options at Bangor, Sedgefield and Worcester through next week.  The novices’ handicap chases are proving very competitive at the moment so we will do our best to find the right option to suit her.  She is a talented mare who should be able to build on what she did over hurdles.
THE GUVNOR
The Guvnor made a decent start in a juvenile hurdle over 2 miles at Ffos Las a few weeks.  He could now go to Bangor on Wednesday or Fontwell later in the week in a similar event but we’ll keep an eye on the weather because he would prefer some nicer ground.

2 SHARES REMAINING IN A SMALL & AFFORDABLE SYNDICATE WITH AN EXCITING FUTURE PROSPECT
We have a good looking 3yo son of Champs Elysees on sale currently.  He will be part of an 8 person syndicate and there are currently just 2 shares remaining. He is out of a black type Mare (Romantic Fashion) and having been purchased in the summer he has been broken in and ridden away here at Hill Barn Stables. He is a strong, good moving type that carries himself very well and stands at about 16:2.  He is clean of his wind and has a very likeable attitude. Please get in touch for further details or to arrange a viewing: info@harrywhittington.co.uk

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH... Tammy Moreira
Our employee of the month goes to our super secretary Tammy who has been a huge asset to the team since joining us this summer.  She is always keen to get involved in all areas working hard in the office but also occasionally riding and even driving the box to the races.  A real team player! Well done and keep up the good work!
