JUMP RACING IS BACK ON THE CARDS

12-08-2016

THIS WEEK With jump racing now back on the cards we're all beginning to get excited about the season ahead.  The majority of the winter horses are back in, most of which are beginning to make their way around the round gallop and we've bought an exciting new prospect for The Lead the Way Syndicate... ENTRIES Jack Bear has been declared to run at Nottingham this afternoon in the Colwick Cup at 4.20. He has improved 15lb in just 2 runs for HWR and we are very hopeful there is more to come from him. Although he handled soft ground at this venue first time out, the tacky ground at Haydock didn't suit last time, so we are hopeful he will enjoy the better ground. It's a step up in class for Jack and a valuable race, so there are lots of dangers lurking amongst the other 11 runners but granted some luck in running and a decent pace we hope an improved performance should see him in the shake up. Martin Harley takes the ride. The plan is to run Polstar in the 7.45 at Market Rasen on tomorrow evening. He remains 3lbs above his last winning mark and races are thin on the ground at this time of year, so we thought we'd try something new with him. It'll be his first time over 2m 7f but around this easy track and if he does stay the distance we may see him improve. He really hits top form at this time of year, let's hope he can do the same this year. NEW RECRUIT CHARLIE PAPA LIMA PURCHASED FOR: THE LEAD THE WAY SYNDICATE IMG_0455 We are delighted to announce the good news that we have finally found a new horse to replace Qasser for The Lead the Way Syndicate. Purchased last week at the Doncaster sales, Charle Papa Lima is a 5yo son of Winged Love, who won his last start in Irish Point to Points. He is a nice moving, athletic type but his biggest strength is his excellent attitude. He ran to a rating of 87 for his win and his form ties in with another horse we have at home here called Star Tackle whom we hold in very high regard. He should go on any ground and can start off over novice hurdling before going over fences later in his career. We are offering 10% shares in this syndicate for an upfront fee of £1,850 following by a monthly conrtibution to his training fees from 1st October. If you are interested in finding out any further information on this horse or to arrange a viewing then please get in touch via info@harrywhittington.co.uk or 01235 751869. Until next week...
