SNOWY DAYS

25-01-2019

THIS WEEK Snow has fallen on the hill this week whilst temperatures have continued to drop.  We have no runners to report whilst conditions on the track were on the main unusually dry.  Now that these have changed however we have a number of runners heading out in the next week, the first of which are today.  Lots to look forward to as we have lift off once again... ENTRIES DJIN CONTI Djin Conti has been declared to run at Doncaster this afternoon in the 3m Handicap Hurdle, which is a qualifier for the Northern Lights Stayers Hurdle Series.  The track should suit him well and he has been thriving at home.  He showed us last time he stays 3m, so hopefully he can take another step forward here, under conditions that should suit him.   COURT LIABILITY Court Liability has been declared to line up in the Pertemps qualifier over 3m 1f at Huntingdon this afternoon.  He is in fabulous form at home, has a fantastic record for the yard and showed further improvement last time out for the step up in trip to 3m. He will need to step up again to win this race but hopefully he can finish there or thereabouts, which will get him qualified for the final at Cheltenham in March.   DARA'S PRESENT Dara’s Present will line up at Uttoxeter tomorrow in the 2m Maiden Hurdle.  He ran well on his first run back after such a long time off at Warwick where he was keen enough throughout the race, which meant he got very tired in the closing stages.  He has come on for the run and is in good form at home.  The drop in trip to 2m should suit him and hopefully he will take a step forward. CAROLE'S VIGILANTE Carole’s Vigilante is set to line up on the same card at Uttoxeter tomorrow in the 2m 4f Handicap Chase.  He is in really good form at home, we were thrilled with his debut over fences the other day, so hopefully he can take a step forward and run a big race. THE KINGS BABY The Kings Baby will also be heading to Uttoxeter tomorrow for the 2m 6f Mares’ Chase.  She ran nicely last time out at Sandown before making a bad mistake where her wind stopped her.  She has since been for a wind operation and is schooling really well.  We are looking forward to getting her back on track. GENIUS Genius is set to run at Ludlow on Monday in the Maiden Hurdle over 1m7f.  He ran well last time at Taunton to finish third to a good horse that went on to finish third in the Tolworth at Sandown.  He showed plenty of greenness, but still ran well.  Therefore we are hopefully he can take a step forward and be really competitive in this race. ZANZI WIN Zanzi Win will also head to Ludlow on Monday for the 2m Juvenile Hurdle.  He is in good shape and has been schooling lots since his debut over hurdles where it was surprising that he turned out to be very green considering he jumped so well at home.  Hopefully he will improve for the experience and can take a step forward. ROUGE VIF Rouge Vif is in good form at home and has numerous entries next week.  He ran a cracker last time at Kempton on Boxing day finishing just behind Mister Fisher, who has gone on to frank the form to win a grade 2 at Haydock last weekend.  His main target is the Dovecot later in February.  Hopefully he can win one of these under a penalty to give him a good confidence booster. SPEEDY CARGO Speedy Cargo is set to go up in trip to 3m at Newcastle on Tuesday in their Handicap Hurdle.  He has been in good form at home and should find the conditions to suit him. BIGMARTRE Bigmartre is entered at Wincanton on Thursday in a 2m 4f Class 2 Handicap Chase.  He has found life difficult this term after having such a successful season as a novice last year.  He ran a nice race last time at Ludlow but made a mistake at the third last before running on gamely to finish fourth.  We have been freshening him up at home and he schooled very well this week.  We are stepping him up in trip to help him travel in his race better.  Hopefully he can take a good step forward.
