HWR WEEKLY NEWS
It's been a bumper week for the team with some great results out on the track including 2 winners in as many days.  The McNeill Family owned Seddon struck gold at Lingfield on Tuesday followed by Transfer Friendly cruising in at Ffos Las on Wednesday for our very own Lead the Way Syndicate.  The horses are in good order, the staff are feeling good, the fire is still burning and Christmas spirits are slowly creeping in...

REPORTS
BREAKING WAVES

Breaking Waves headed to Cheltenham on Friday.  We knew going into such a competitive contest that it was always going to be a tough ask.  Unfortunately he never really looked happy towards the back of the field.  Jordan Nailor did the right thing by looking after him in the closing stages and he has come back in good shape.  He is going to have a well-earned rest now and we’ll aim to bring him back in the Spring.

SHORE SHANTY

Shore Shanty got her chasing career up and running with a very encouraging 3rd at Worcester on Friday.  We were keen to ensure that she enjoyed her first experience over the bigger obstacles and although she wasn’t able to get close to the front pair, she saw off the rest comfortably without Daryl ever getting overly serious with her. That’s a solid start that she can build on, especially as she steps up in distance.

CALIDAD

We were thrilled with Calidad’s return at Fontwell on Sunday finishing a solid 2nd.  He’s been off since June so it was great to see him run a cracker under a front-running ride from Jack Quinlan.  The plan was to be positive on this lightly-raced 5-year-old and it all worked out extremely well.  He’s a horse that probably wants two miles on a flat track and we’ve got a great foundation to build on with him now.

SEDDON

Seddon took a big step forward from his Fontwell return by making all the running under Adrian Heskin to win at Lingfield on Tuesday. It looked a competitive heat on paper and he was asked to carry top weight.  It was a perfectly-judged ride by Adrian, who steered a middle to wide course for the most part in search of better ground. He jumped well throughout and responded well when rivals threw down a challenge in the home straight to maintain his advantage through the final furlong.

TRANSFER FRIENDLY

Transfer Friendly also benefited from a well-judged ride when opening his account with a 16-length victory at Ffos Las on Wednesday.  Daryl Jacob charted a wide course at the Welsh venue, where the ground can get quite chopped up around the inside, and Transfer Friendly, who was stepping up half a mile in trip, moved strongly throughout.  In front at the second last, it looked briefly like we might need to see off a Nicky Henderson-trained rival but he took a heavy fall at the last, leaving us a long way clear of Gris Gris Top, the even money favourite.

FAIRE PART SIVOLA
Faire Part Sivola went back to Ffos Las on Wednesday to try and follow up his recent success off a 6lb higher mark but he shaped like something may have been amiss when hanging to his left in the closing stages.  It looked momentarily like he was going to mount a big challenge at the top of the straight but he didn’t help Daryl Jacob when asked for his effort, eventually coming home in 3rd.  We’ll get him back and checked over to see if there are any physical issues before his next start.
TORIGNI
Torigni got his chasing career up and running with a solid third at Market Rasen on Thursday. We purposely looked for a small field contest to help build up his confidence and although his jumping was a bit novicey at times, the run should bring him on again mentally as well giving him valuable chasing experience. He was given a nice positive ride by Daryl Jacob but just didn't quite see his race out as strongly as a couple of his rivals so we might look to bring him back in trip a touch next time.
ENTRIES
HARRY'S HOTTIE
Harry’s Hottie has really filled out over the summer and she’s done very well since coming into training with us in the last few weeks. Her future probably lies over bigger obstacles but we are ready to get her up and running in a maiden or novices’ hurdle and there could be an opportunity to do just that at Lingfield next Thursday.
