HWR WEEKLY NEWS
It's hard to believe that we are already approaching February!  The mid-season break is now over at HWR and we have a busy week ahead with lots of entries...watch this space!
ENTRIES
RAFFLES GITANE
Raffles Gitane heads back to Huntingdon this afternoon for a 0-120 handicap chase that looks an ideal contest for her on paper.  She hated that heavy ground last time but conditions look set to be much nicer there today and the drop back to an extended two-mile trip should be in her favour.
DOCPICKEDME
Docpickedme will head back to the scene of his latest victory tomorrow - Uttoxeter.  His life has been made that bit harder by a 6lb rise in the weights but we are at least able to stick to the same grade and if he can get into the same sort of rhythm that he did when winning there on New Year’s Eve, then he should again acquit himself well.  He’s also open to more improvement going up in trip.
POLDARK CROSS
Poldark Cross will also be heading to Uttoxeter tomorrow where he'll be lining up in the 2m4f handicap chase.  Last seen finishing a close 2nd at Sedgefield on Boxing Day, he’s come on nicely for that.  He is still unexposed over fences and the galloping nature of Uttoxeter should suit him ideally.
CALIDAD
Calidad has been given two entries at Sedgefield on Sunday, one of which is an option to step him up in trip.  Both are 0-120 contests so we’ll see how the entries shape up before making a decision but crucially, the ground has dried out up there which is ideal for Calidad who is best suited by a sounder surface. The key to him is getting him to settle into a nice rhythm so hopefully we can do that and see the best of him.
JUNIPER
Juniper could also go to Sedgefield on Sunday but we’ve also given her an option to go to Chepstow next Friday.  Her Warwick run can be written off because she pulled off two shoes on ground she hated and it will be good to get her onto some nicer ground.  We have a lot of faith that she can leave her opening chase mark behind in time and this looks a great opportunity to get her career moving in the right direction.
TORIGNI
Torigni goes particularly well right-handed, as he showed when winning in gritty style at Leicester last month and we’ve given him an entry at Hereford on Monday where he can race off just a 1lb higher mark.  The slightly longer trip would be fine provided conditions weren’t testing and he goes there fresh and well.  We’ll monitor the entries to see how competitive that race is shaping up before we declare.
