WELCOME TO HILL BARN STABLES

03-09-2021

HWR WEEKLY NEWS
Colder mornings are good news at Hill Barn Stables as this can only mean one thing - that the National Hunt season is nearly upon us.  The horses are stepping up their pace in the sand gallop, we have started to school a few and finally there is a feeling of normality returning as we open our gates once again for an Open Morning next week as part of National Racehorse Week. It's full steam ahead...

REPORTS
PARISIAN AFFAIR
The first day of September saw Parisian Affair make her debut over fences in the second division of the 2½m novices’ handicap chase at Uttoxeter.  Racing just worse than mid-field, she showed a tendency to jump to her left and got a reminder following an untidy leap at the seventh. A  blunder at the tenth meant she dropped to the rear and soon began to struggle, pulling up shortly after making another jumping error at the fourth last.

WARRANTY
Our sole upcoming entry is Warranty who may return to Pontefract on Thursday 16th September for Round 5 of the Pontefract Stayers Championship, a series of eight races run at the track throughout the year for which points are allocated based on the finishing position of each horse; the owner, trainer and stable of the horse who achieves the most points will each receive a memento and an additional cash prize at Pontefract’s final meeting of the year on October 18th.  Runner-up in the second round and fourth in round 3, Warranty has finished third on his last three starts and will hopefully run another good race and be in the running to collect some more Championship points.

We look forward to opening our gates and welcoming you to Hill Barn Stables on the morning of Saturday 11th September from 9:30am until Midday to show our support for the National Racehorse Week.  A chance to look around the stables, catch up with the team and find out what we have in store for the winter ahead. Due to covid restrictions and the limit on numbers we are able to accommodate we are having to kindly ask that all attendees either register on the National Racehorse Week website to secure a booking OR email us direct at tammy@harrywhittington.co.uk to let us know you are coming along with your contact details.
* ONLY 2 SHARES REMAINING * THE LEAD THE WAY SYNDICATE TRANSFER FRIENDLY
We have secured an exciting new horse for the Lead the Way Syndicate, he arrived with us recently and his name is ‘Transfer Friendly’. He is a quality, athletic and good looking 5yo son of Mahler.  He was an excellent 2nd on his fifth start in an Irish Point To Point where the switch to front running tactics brought about plenty of improvement. He’s a very sound individual with an excellent attitude and a brilliant jumper. He’ll be for novice hurdling this season before likely chasing the season after.  His Sire Mahler is fast making a name for himself as a top stallion and boasts a highly impressive 44% strike rate with winners to runners.  His progeny are renowned for getting better with age so we’re extremely excited by his future as he develops into the finished article. An exciting prospect with shares available. The prices are as follows and there will be 10 x 10% shares in total: £1,795 upfront + £250/month until 31st May 2023. Please get in touch for further details or to arrange a viewing: info@harrywhittington.co.uk
