WHAT A SEASON

03-05-2019

THIS WEEK This week marks the end of another brilliant season as we turn the corner into May.  A number of highlights are pictured below.  We are delighted with the results and would like to thank all of our owners, supporters and the brilliant team behind us who have all played a part along the way.  So after a short break with no runners there is plenty more in store in the next few weeks with bumper horses making their debuts and summer jumpers kicking off their campaigns.  Onwards and upwards!   ENTRIES SIROBBIE Sirobbie has been declared to run at Uttoxeter tomorrow in the 2.10 bet365 novice’s handicap hurdle over 2m7f.  He is trying the extended trip of 3m for the first time.  Having been in good form since his last run which was handicap debut where he showed signs of greenness we feel he will have come on plenty for the experience.  He should improve for the step up in trip so we are looking forward to running him. LANTIERN Lantiern holds a few entries in maiden hurdles over the next few weeks.  He has shown huge potential in his bumpers, winning nicely at Lingfield on the all weather.  His schooling has been well above average for a novice going hurdling so we are really looking forward to running him. HENRIETTA BELL Henrietta Bell holds an entry next Tuesday at Exeter in the Royal Oak Ideford Mares’ Maiden hurdle over 2m.  She has run consistently well in bumpers this season and it was frustrating not to have won one.  We had a bit of a stop start season with her and so seeing as she is in good form at home we have prepared her for a debut over hurdles now.  She ran a cracker in a Irish PTP to finish second which has meant that she has been schooling really nicely over hurdles and we are looking forward to running her. PILOT STATION Pilot Station also holds an entry at Exeter next Tuesday in the Wonford Inn Exeter national hunt novices hurdle over 2m2f.  He is a relatively new horse to the yard and has been training nicely.  Before arriving with us he finished second in a maiden Irish hurdle where he came through the field to run a really race.  He will line up in this novice hurdle on Tuesday and it will be interesting to see how he gets on. HONOURMISSION Honourmission has had a number of entries made for him over the coming weeks.  This will be his handicap debut and after showing some promise in novice hurdles he will need to show ability now he is down in class.  He has always been backward mentally so has been learning with every run, it will be interesting to see how he gets on up in trip and in handicap company. THE KINGS BABY The Kings Baby holds an entry at Fontwell on Wednesday in the 7.45pm Goodwin Racing Telephone Betting Mares' Handicap Chase (Class 4) (Qualifier for the Hereford Mares' Handicap Chase Series) over 2m 5f.  Due to her rating having dropped to the same as her hurdles mark it has made her eligible for 0-110 handicap chases in May.  Which by design may give her the best opportunity to win, she has been in really good form at home and hopefully she will run a big race wherever she goes. BRANDY JAMES Brandy James holds an entry on the all-weather at Southwell on Wednesday in the visitsouthwell.comhandicap (class 4).  He also has an entry on the turf on Tuesday 14th May at Chepstow in the B J Llewellyn Supports tenovuscancercare.org.uk Handicap (Class 6).  He would need sufficient rain to be able to run on the turf which would be plan A.  Plan B if the ground does not soften for him we may have to look at this race at Southwell which is a very slow surface, a galloping 2m track with an end to end gallop should suit the horse best. GOLDEN GROVE Golden Grove holds a few entries at a number of tracks over the next few weeks.  He is a likeable, athletic type who has shown plenty of speed on the gallops at home.  He is an un-raced 4 year old with hopefully lots of potential.  He is most likely to run at Ludlow a week on Sunday in the Scott and Newman Centenary Fontane 'Newcomers' Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race (Class 4) over 1m 7f as the sharp track should suit him best. SHANTOU VOW Shantou Vow also holds a few entries in the coming weeks in some bumper races.  He has a lovely pedigree and is out of a half Sister to the dam of Paisley Park.  He has shown a good level of ability on the gallops at home and is a horse we sourced at the store sales in Ireland last summer.  He is another un-raced 4yr old with hopefully a big feature ahead of him.  He will need a little bit of cut in the ground so hopefully we get some rain and we can find an opportunity for his debut in one of these bumpers. SALTO CHISCO Salto Chisco holds an entry next Saturday in the join racing tv now handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Warwick.  He has been running frustratingly well without winning for much of the last 18 months.  He is entered back around a left handed track, with the added distance so hopefully he can run a big race and there will be no more deserved or popular winner if he can get his head in front. WEAPONS OUT Weapons Out has an entry at Ludlow next Sunday in the 2.30pm Scott and Newman centenary estima novices hurdle class 4 over 2m.  He ran consistently well in his 4 bumpers this season and has been schooling nicely.  He will make his debut over hurdles here before heading to the sales at the end of the month.  He is a nice horse with a very likeable attitude. DESIGNER DESTINY Designer Destiny holds a few entries in mid-May in some mares only national hunt flat races.  She is a very nice, 'racey' Jeremy mare, who has shown some speed and a turn of foot on the gallops at home.  She ran a cracker on debut in Ireland to go down by the narrowest margin in a photo finish, she had a little break on arrival in England and has improved for it, we are looking forward to seeing her run.
