A Tragic Loss
26-04-2016
NEWS: We regret to announce the tragic news that we had to put Arzal down today. We are all devastated here at Hill Barn. He was a very special horse in our small yard who brought us all so much joy. He was also a good friend to everyone who was involved with him. He will be sorely missed and never forgotten!! http://www.racingpost.com/news/horse-racing/whittington-rocked-by-death-of-stable-star-arzal/2070670/#newsArchiveTabs=last7DaysNews RUNNER: EMERGINGFORCE left for the Punchestown Festival early yesterday morning and will be HWR’s final runner of successful 2015/16 jumps season. He runs in the Irish Daily Mirror Novices Hurdle over 3m 1f on Wednesday at 4.55 and its very exciting to have another runner in a Grade 1. Force has been an excellent recruit to the yard this season and would be 3 from 4 over hurdles if he hadn’t unseated at the last at Haydock last month. The handicapper raised him to a mark of 147 for that, so the choice to come to this race was made very easy for us. The ground should be on the good side which suits him and the step up in trip around a stiff track should help take another step forward. Bellshill is a worthy favourite and sets the standard, but we are very hopeful Emerging Force can improve and give him something to think about. Gavin Sheehan takes the ride. REPORTS: Mollasses finished 7th on her switch back to the flat at Leicester on Saturday. She broke well taking a handy position under jockey George Baker and everything went smoothly for the first 2/3rds of the race. When she came under pressure though she frustratingly didn’t see her race out. We are back to the drawing board with her and hopefully a switch back to hurdles will get her back on track. She is a talented Mare. Qasser finished 4th at Wolverhampton on Saturday Evening. He took up a handy position on the rail and travelled well throughout the race. They went a very good gallop in the contest and got racing from a long way out, Qass slipped the field with 2 of his rivals only to get caught by a late closer right on the line. Until next week
