HWR WEEKLY NEWS

We finally saw some frost on the ground this week and it’s starting to feel more like winter... Whilst Five to follow points are accumulating and the battle is well under way, we've caught our breath this week, with only one runner at Lingfield yesterday. We have regathered, recharged and we are ready for the next wave. Bring it on!

HARRY'S HOTTIE

Harry's Hottie got her rules career up and running with an encouraging 5th in a maiden hurdle at Lingfield yesterday. She has been coming along nicely at home but she's going to want a much stiffer test in time which is why we were keen to make sure she raced on or close to the pace. Daryl Jacob gave her a lovely introductory ride, keeping her away from the chewed-up inside rail throughout, and his mount travelled and jumped nicely before getting tired from the second last, where speedier rivals took over. She should come on a good deal for this first spin and we look forward to seeing what she can do next.

CALIDAD

We are excited to get Calidad back to the track after his promising return at Fontwell earlier in the month, where he finished 2nd under a really positive front-running ride from Jack Quinlan. That was a great platform to build on and the horse has really pleased us in his work since. A flat, easy two miles should really suit him so the maiden hurdle at Southwell on Tuesday is appealing, but we also have alternative options later in the week at Leicester on Thursday and Sedgefield on Friday.

REHOMING UPDATE WATERLEFE GETAWAY

We had some lovely feedback this week from Waterlefe Getaway's new owner... 'Lefe' as she is now called had a couple of months off in the field to switch off and relax before heading off for some retraining. She is back at her forever home and is described as being a lovely, gentle and kind mare.
